Psychological Services of St. Augustine is
pleased to announce the creation of our FAMILY
TIES program (Treatment, Intervention,
Education and Support), a comprehensive program
directed towards strengthening families and
reducing the incidence of abuse, divorce, and behavior
problems in St. Johns County.
Utilizing our expertise in psychiatry and
psychology as well as our extensive contacts in
the community, we are uniquely poised to assist
families and/or make referrals for other
vitally needed services.
In addition to offering families our
psychiatric and counseling expertise in our
practice offices, we also offer in-home
parenting and counseling services.
MARRIAGE MATTERS
The program will consist of an overview of the skills and
attributes of a healthy family. Communication, intimacy,
trust, and male-female differences will be addressed in a
positive format that will strengthen even the best of
relationships. This program is offered in a six-week format.
PARENTING CLASSES
We are pleased to provide the internationally
acclaimed Nurturing Parenting Program to residents of St. Johns County.
Any family looking
to strengthen their communication, conflict
resolution, and nurturing skills may also be
eligible to attend these classes.
FAMILY TIES
Based on the Nurturing Parenting Program, this program will
showcase the skills and attributes of a healthy family. By
strengthening the family, the incidence of divorce, abuse,
behavior problems and general dysfunction will decrease and
the family unit can then serve as the foundation for each
individual member's growth. In the eight week program, both
children and parents attend, participating both separately
and together resulting in improved skills and relationships.
